Privacy and cookie notice

This notice explains how Designa Blinds (“we”) collects and uses personal information through this website, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What information do we collect?

What you send us through the quote or booking form: your name, phone number, email address (optional), suburb, preferred contact method, details of the blinds or cleaning you need, and any notes.
How you reached the site: if you arrive from an advert or tagged link, we keep the advert click ID (such as Google’s gclid) and campaign tags, plus the first page you visited, for the length of your visit, and attach them to your request.
Usage information, only if you accept cookies: pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location, collected by Google Analytics and Google Ads.

Why do we use it?

To respond to your request: to contact you, quote, and arrange an installation or cleaning visit.
To understand which adverts lead to real enquiries and sales. We may upload the advert click ID linked to your enquiry to Google Ads, so Google can report which ads worked. We don’t send your name or contact details for this.
To improve the website, if you accepted analytics cookies.

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t add you to marketing lists without asking.

Who else processes your information?

We use a small number of service providers (operators) to run the website:

Our website host, which serves the site and processes form submissions.
Resend, which delivers the emails generated when you send a request.
Google (Analytics and Ads), only if you accept cookies.

Some of these providers store information outside South Africa. We use only providers bound by data protection obligations that give a level of protection comparable to POPIA.

Which cookies does the site use?

Analytics and advertising cookies are off until you choose “Accept” in the cookie banner. If you choose “Only necessary”, Google tags run in a restricted mode that doesn’t set these cookies. Your choice is saved in your browser so we don’t ask again. To change it, use the Cookie settings link in the footer, or clear this site’s data in your browser.

Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*): measures how the site is used.
Google Ads (_gcl_*): measures whether visits from our adverts lead to enquiries.

How long do we keep it?

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any work that follows, and for as long as the law requires us to keep business records. After that we delete them.

What are your rights?

Under POPIA you may:

ask what personal information we hold about you, and for a copy;
ask us to correct or delete it;
object to us using it, including for direct marketing;
complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
