Roller blinds
Roller blinds are a single panel of fabric that rolls onto a tube at the top of the window. They suit almost any room, come in blockout, light-filtering and sunscreen fabrics, and are the simplest blind to operate and keep clean. Designa Blinds supplies and installs them, made to fit each window.

What you get with roller blinds
- Blockout, light-filtering and sunscreen fabrics
- Chain, spring or motorised operation
- A clean, minimal look that sits close to the glass
- Can be fitted inside the window recess or on the wall above it
Worth knowing before you choose
- A blockout roller fitted inside the recess still lets a thin line of light in at the sides. Fitting it outside the recess with an overlap darkens a room far better.
- Sunscreen fabric gives privacy by day, but at night with the lights on, people outside can see in.
- The fabric can't tilt. It's up, down or somewhere in between.
Questions about roller blinds
Are roller blinds good for bedrooms?
Yes. A blockout roller blind fitted outside the window recess, with a generous overlap on each side, is one of the most effective ways to darken a bedroom.
Can roller blinds go in a bathroom?
Yes, with a moisture-resistant fabric such as PVC-coated or polyester, which won't absorb steam and can be wiped clean.
How do you clean roller blinds?
Vacuum them with a soft brush attachment every few weeks and spot-clean marks with a damp cloth. For ingrained dirt or mould, a professional clean is safer than soaking the fabric.
